Five handy hints for finding your next job locally.

1. Prepare an up-to-date CV. You should include any experience you have in hospitality, make sure that you give your email and phone number and check your messages!
2. Knock on doors - this is a numbers game. Get out there and ask business owners face to face, if they have any vacancies. When you ask for a job make sure that you are neat and tidy and be prepared to be interviewed straight away.
3. Be flexible – the more willing you are to do anything and work any day of the week – the more likely you will be offered a job
4. You may be offered a trial shift – be 10 minutes early, dress appropriately, ask questions and work hard! And show initiative, if you see a job you know needs doing, do it before being asked.
5. Ask your friends and family – they may know about vacancies that you have not seen.
